Health care executives in the Bay Area are talking about a new five-year contract worth $6 million, a big jump over their salaries.
According to the company that has the contract, the award comes with a bonus for every day the hospital and its contractors work together.
The contract is with the Bayfield Medical Group, which runs the San Francisco Bay Health Authority.
It is for two years and was signed Wednesday by Dr. Eric Minton, Bayfield CEO.
Minton said the hospital was working with the company to determine if it is the right fit.
The hospital will be awarded a two-year extension for an undisclosed amount.
The new deal comes with bonuses for every patient who visits the hospital during that time, and Minton said there is no cap on the amount.
He declined to say what kind of bonuses would be offered.
The hospital will also be awarded $3.6 million in research and development and another $2.5 million in administrative support, Minton wrote in a memo to staff.
The first contract with Bayfield was announced on June 27.
The new contract is for a five-month period beginning July 1.
Bayfield was founded in 1996 and has more than 400 doctors, nurses and other staff.
The firm’s headquarters are in the San Jose, Calif., city.
